The Yard from where I work and store the machines is in the North Lakes/ Mango Hill area of North Brisbane. There are no area limitations as to where you can conduct business.
About the Opportunity
I run Diggermate North Lakes as a full-time business and this is my only income, in saying that I dictate how much I wish to work in any given period. A typical day starts with me checking the booking app to see how many and what type of bookings I have for the day; I then arrive at the yard at 06.00 am and warm up and prepare the machines for customs who turn up at 06.30. They are usually all done by 07.00am. After that I might have a delivery to do, or I might service a machine or I may just go home and do a little bit of local area marketing or check emails for bookings and Diggermate updates. Then usually the machines will start being returned from about 04.00pm onwards. I may decide to book wet hires for myself, it just depends on what I feel like doing in a particular week. Most weeks I could easily book four or five days of wet hires if I wanted to.
Diggermate Northlakes is being sold with three Diggermate gazetted territories from North Lakes in the North, Redcliffe in the East, Nudgee in the South and Clear Mountain in the west. This means that you can operate out of, and aggressively market in, those areas, but at the same time you are permitted to conduct business and hire equipment to anyone anywhere.
Diggermate is now approaching 100 locations across Australia and New Zealand, so it is not uncommon for a customer who uses Diggermate on the South Side or Gold Coast to book online with Diggermate North Lakes when doing a job up here and vice versa.

Marketing support
The Diggermate Franchisor promotes themselves as a digital marketing company that promotes the franchisee's business on their behalf, this is undertaken through aggressive digital, Google and Social Media marketing as well as ad campaigns, I find that the google marking in particular is very successful with 90% of booking coming through online google searches. Of course each franchisee is also required to undertake local are marketing with lots of support and training from the franchisor.
Training provided
Training is provided by the franchisor and must be completed by the franchisee before commencement of business. Training usually last for 2 to 3 days and covers all aspects of running of the Diggermate business including but not limited to:
Marketing
Use of the bookings app.
Handovers and returns of machines before and after hire.
Use of the detailed “knowledge Base”
Obligations of both the franchisee and the Franchisor.
Disbursements and payments.
Royalties.
Maintenance.
Skills
While no special skills are required as all training is provided by the franchisor, Diggermate do promote a no worries attitude when dealing with customer and situations.

History
I was living overseas for some years and ran a successful equipment hire company for close to ten years while there. I like the concept of ‘hire’ as it allows you to multiply your time. That business was also a franchise so I decided to stick with the same format back home in Australia. When I opened Diggermate North Lakes in 2019 there were only 8 Diggermate Franchises/locations at the time, I became number 9, Now Diggermate is approaching 100 franchises/locations and is growing at a rapid pace.
