Poolwerx is the industry leader, with retail and mobile business' in australia, new zealand and most recently america. the retail stores are largely situated in busy shopping centres and concentrate on high tech water testing and analysis, chemical and equipment sales admin and taking mobile bookings, the mobile side of the business is quite varied from cleaning and servicing of backyard pools, equipment installations, fault finding equipment inspection reports for new home buyers, tenant handovers and end of lease inspections for real estate companies, b2b includes real estates, strata companies, commercial institutions and insurers. poolwerx has 127 stores and over 400 vans in australia and new zealand and 30 stores and 160 plus vans in america. most franchises have experienced year on year growth over many years and were not adversely affected by the g f c or covid19. mainly the franchises tend to be husband and wife teams but increasingly these days they are becoming truly family businesses with sons and daughters joining the team. the growth in the northern suburbs makes our business, poolwerx kingsley/wanneroo well placed for expansion over the next few years. we have been with poolwerx for over 18years, starting as a man in a van with just 4 regular clients, with the store opening in 2010, we have a strong long term client base in both retail and mobile.
Marketing support
Poolwerx have a dedicated team of marketing professionals, with 3 tiers, national, regional and local. using various platforms they contact your data base with current specials upcoming sales, product of the month etc. national marketing is done solely by the team with input from local and national teams of franchisees with regional and local you can leave it to them, d i y or a combination of each, there is a bi monthly marketing operational plan with with posters for both inside and out side stores and p o s material.
Training provided
There is an initial 3 week training period in brisbane, that covers hands on plumbing, basic chemical treatments HR, health and safety in house computing, p o s system and in field invoicing. ongoing there are face to face and video training sessions from both poolwerx and also supply partners to ensure you are on top all the latest industry developments. and there is a local business development manager and of course the annual convention.
Skills
There are no particular skills qualifications or experience required, but it helps to have basic knowledge of computers, use of tool and customer service. mainly you will need commonsense a willingness to learn new skills and have a reasonably pleasant disposition. poolwerx franchisees tend to come from varied backgrounds including, but not exclusive to the trades, it, retail or management roles.
Length of Agreement
The length of agreement is five years, with renewal options again five yearly, you will receive a draft copy of the contract in good time to consider and discuss any concerns or changes from the previous most franchise contracts are fairly standard and are mainly meant to protect the brand.

Poolwerx started in 1992 in brisbane, founded by c e o John O'Brien the franchise has grown from strength to strength with the acquisition of independents and franchises throughout australia, new zealand and america, poolwerx came to w a around 2004 with the acquisition of the franchise jag, back then there was only one store, there are currently in excess of 20 and counting.
